so, hows everyone doing? good i hope. i just got another little model to build, and am still working on my new falcon model. i talked to a girl yesterday who does faux (foe) finish painting in houses. she said shed help me weather my model. and she gave me a few tips on the subject of making something look dirty. watered down acrylic paint, a sponge brush and a rag. use it like stain she said. and the acrylic will wash off of enamel paint before it dries and it can be painted over if i should screw up. so, theres my modeling tip for the day. talk to yall later.
dave and cate, if thats yall, email me: mbleak@sbcglobal.net

watered down acrylic is crap! swiched to thinned enamel. ive always used enamel and thought that acrylic would be the way to go. but it dries to fast and shows brush marks.

I used acyrlic silver to paint over one of the new transformer faces. Anyone see the new classic line Ironhide? Great transformer and not a bad representation of ol' Ironhide, but they made his face a god awful light blue. I unscrewed the face and masked it off, and it only took two coats with the acrylic. It is good for something.

I blew a steer tire yesterday and kinda smashed up my truck. This photo was taken after I had the tire changed and I strapped the hood down so it wouldn't fall off during the 70 miles back to the yard. No one was hurt. Debris smashed a windshield of a car going the oppisite direction.

Well I'm also the mechanic for our company. I drive a couple of days a week when mechanic work is slow. I have to wait until the insurance adjuster does an estimate before I can start tearing it apart (even though I've done enough of that already). I'll have to replace the entire hood. Re wire some headlights. New quarter fender. Torch the bumper brakets and reshape them. Install a new bumper cover. Probably a good day and a half once we have the parts.
