Pleaze take the time to Vote on the New icon for the BCA. This Icon will be used in ads, banners and the BCA page redesign.
Up for a Vote is the Gold Darth Vader Lego (R) minifig. This is the only entry that we have a viable picture for. It can be found in the BCA Page Redesign thread (Page 1)
Next entrant is the Hasbro 3'3/4 figure of Darth Vader. This one is from the Capture of the Tantive IV battlepack. It will be photoshopped to become Gold az well.
And then we have Jawas. Theze galactic Junk collectors have found there way into several BCA ads. They will continue to be Ad fodder for years to come. Do you think they deserve to be our new Icon?
And lastly if you feel that none of these options suit the BCA well, then pleaze select none of the above. We will get back to work on more options.
The results will be shown once this poll closes. This poll has also been "announced" on all boards. So if you see it in multiple places don't freak. its all linked and only one vote per member will count.
Thank you for participating in this BCA event.

Only 5 votes. That's rather disappointing.
Nice to have a winner, though. Tantive Pack Vader.

Thanks to everyone who did vote! Here is a pic of the winner: I like him without the saber, personally. Now, does anyone possess this particular figure, and can they take a well-lit, well-contrasted and well-framed photo so the graphics gurus can 'bronze' him up (or 'goldenize' him) in their graphics applications? I am assuming that once we have that, it won't be hard to 'shop him onto a trophy, and voilĂ ! We'll have our new logo and can begin plastering it all over the intertubewebnets. If not I'll buy the pack and take a photo, but that might take some time.

I will see if I can work with it. I belive that Empress is better than I when it comes to actual "photoshopping" (partly b/c I have no photo editing software to speak of).
Empress if you can not work with this photo then perhaps DJ can send me the figure. I can take decent photos and then send it back to DJ. I promice it will come to no harm on my end.

Very basic "this is sort of what it would look like" image. The color's not quite right, I know and the background has to come out still. There's a lot of texture. Take 2:

Cheers, DJ and Empy. It is a good start, and I like the way his bodysuit has come out. Not so much the cape, though - with that cloth texture being so large it is clear it is a small figure, and there are a few moire patterns appearing. I always thought the vinyl capes looked better on figures but all the new ones have cloth so I guess I am in a minority.
What do we think about the skirt? Looks a bit funny to me.

Oh wow, I missed take 2 - that's even better, great stuff! The colour is much nicer.

The cloth probably prove cheaper and better at draping than the vinyl.
I think it'd be better without the skirt cape. He looks a bit like an amputee with one leg obscured. If it's not too much, DJ, a pic with the cape pushed back off the arms might be a good option as well.
If it comes to it, I can blur the cape some, to lesson its texture. Removing it, entirely, though, somehow seems wrong.

I will do my best to take another couple pics. I'll get them posted shortly. AND, if those atill don't work out, then I don't mind sending him out to DV at all.

The cape on this figure is actually longer then Vader.... Maybe they did this to give him that sort of "flowing" appearance. I have taken several more photos of him and uploaded them to my flickr account. here is the link. www.flickr.com/photos/deejay121/

Thanks DJ, those are some good pics. If we can get a shot without his skirt, that'd be awesome, but can that be done without damaging the figure?
What pose or poses are people liking? I think the best poses are his 'at rest' pose (arms down together with hands on stomach) and the 'join me' pose (one arm down, the other raised halfway with vertical forearm and fist).

The fits at the belt somehow seem rather natural. I think I'd like to see the 'join me' pose. It certainly is iconic Vader. Would the 'join me', though, work better in profile?

Guy, the skirt is attatched, and I really don't know if it can be removed without causing damage, or just making him look "odd" at that point. It could look as though something is missing with him should the skirt be removed. I will check him out in a day or two and see if it can be taken off, but my impression from working with it is it can not.
